Monday's Mourning Ministry - "Teen Angel"

Monday's Mourning Ministry

"Teen Angel"

Hi Baby. Mommy misses you.

I cried tonight telling Daddy

the song I sang to you

on our last beach trip together.

My sisters and I were singing

our old favorites in harmony,

yet half-way through, my heart did sting

as we sang in the car with you...

I wanted suddenly to stop...

I didn't want it to come true ~

such premonition made my heart flop

when we sang "Teen Angel" to you...

And now you're gone; you're not with me

And now I miss you, sweet forever teen...

Baby girl, I miss you so.

The Lord holds you close ~ that, I know.

I cannot say, "Hurry home!"

like I'd so often say ~

But now you will no further roam

Till I come Home some day!

The Lord holds you and keeps you safe;

May I trust Love's will, and trust Love's way.

Teen angel, teen angel, a prayer away...

Teen Angel

~Mark Dinning

original song, 1960

Teen angel, teen angel, teen angel, ooh, ooh

That fateful night the car was stalled
upon the railroad track
I pulled you out and we were safe
but you went running back

Teen angel, can you hear me
Teen angel, can you see me
Are you somewhere up above
And I am still your own true love

What was it you were looking for
that took your life that night
They said they found my high school ring
clutched in your fingers tight

Teen angel, can you hear me
Teen angel, can you see me
Are you somewhere up above
And I am still your own true love

Just sweet sixteen, and now you're gone
They've taken you away.
I'll never kiss your lips again
They buried you today

Teen angel, can you hear me
Teen angel, can you see me
Are you somewhere up above
And I am still your own true love

Teen angel, teen angel, answer me, please
